What does the Hotel Insurance cover?

The Policy covers:

  • Loss of or damage to the Building and its Contents (contained in the Building) caused by any of the insured perils

  • Legal liability of the Insured for the payment of damages to other persons (including the clients) in respect of accidental bodily injury (including death, disease or illness) and accidental loss of or damage to material property caused within or outside the hotel in connection with the premises, the contents and the services provided (excluding the legal liability of the Insured in connection with goods supplied to him)
  • The legal liability of the Insured for the payment of damages to his/her employees in respect of bodily injury (including death, disease or illness) arising out of and in the course of such employment
  • Loss of money from the hotel (from a safe or elsewhere) and during their transfer as well as loss of or damage to a safe, case for the transfer of money and prepaid postage machines, clothing and personal effects, also death, permanent or temporary disablement and medical expenses sustained by the Insured or his/her employee(s) solely and directly as a result of robbery or hold-up or attempted thereat while the Insured or his/her employee(s) is/are engaged in the Business
  • Loss of Earnings as a result of the interruption of the hotel’s operation due to loss or damage to the Contents and/or the Building caused by an insured peril, payment of additional expenses for the purpose of limiting this interruption such as use of temporary premises, rental of furniture or spare parts or telephones and payment of audit fees for the preparation of documents following a claim.
  • Accidental breakage of glass fixtures, neon signs and sanitary fixtures
  • Accidental loss of or damage to hotel equipment


Loss of or damage to refrigerated stock caused by changes in the temperature due to accidental damage to any refrigerating plant or caused by accidental leakage of refrigerant liquid or fumes.

What does the Hotel insurance exclude?
The Policy is subject to certain exclusions, some of which are:

  • War, acts of terrorism, loss, damage or liability arising from nuclear weapons material and radioactive contamination.
  • Short circuiting of electrical plant, securities.
  • Loss of or damage to the boiler that caused the explosion.
  • Loss of or damage to property whilst in the open
  • Subsidence and landslide.

Fire Policy
A comprehensive insurance policy for Buildings and their Contents.

The risk of fire is perhaps the most important of the uncertaintly factors causing economic damages to man. Through Laiki Insurance we provide fire Insurance offering cover not only for fire but covers for a series of other basic and optional risks and perils such as earthquake, malicious damage, bursting of pipes etc.

This type of Insurance is included in the basic cover of the Home Policy, Office Police and Shop Policy.

What does the Fire Policy Cover?

The Fire Policy covers:
Loss of or damage to the Buildings and its Contents contained in the building occasioned by fire, lightning and explosion of boilers or liquid gas cylinders used for domestic purposes
 

An optional cover is also offered for loss or damage caused by:

  • Earthquake
  • Storm, hurricane
  • Flood
  • Malicious damage
  • Bursting of water pipes or overflowing of water tanks
  • Escape of water from pipes
  • Riots, strikes
  • Impact by vehicles or aircraft
  • Explosion (other than the one mentioned above)
  • Fire caused by the burning of forests, bush and the clearing of land by fire


Also:

  • Architects’, Legal and Surveyors’ fees necessarily incurred in the repair or replacement following loss or damage caused by any of the insured peril.
  • Expenses for the removal of debris and demolition following loss or damage caused by any of the insured perils
  • Loss of rent (when the Insured Building is rented to others) as a result of loss or damage caused by any of the insured perils


What does the Fire Policy exclude?

The policy is subject to certain exclusions, some of which are:

  • War, acts of terrorism, loss, damage or liability arising from nuclear weapons material and radioactive contamination.
  • The damaged/destroyed property’s own spontaneous fermentation or heating.
  • Loss of income or consequential loss
  • Loss of or damage to the boiler itself that was the cause of an explosion.
  • Loss of or damage to stock that is stored below the level of the road and is not placed on shelves of at least 15cm height.

The Policy covers loss of or damage to Contents contained in a Building caused by theft following or followed by burglary (forcible and violent entry to or exit from a building) or attempted theft thereat.
